THE POSITION

The State of Connecticut Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS) is now hiring for a DMHAS Compliance Policy Advisor to join their team! The Compliance Policy Advisor serves as a strategic resource within the Executive Office, supporting the Commissioner and senior leadership in ensuring agency-wide adherence to federal, state, and departmental regulations. This role is pivotal in shaping and maintaining a culture of compliance, transparency, and ethical governance across DMHAS.

  • SCHEDULE:

    Full-Time, 40 Hours per Week, First Shift, Monday through Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm

  • Actively ensure that legal, ethical, and professional standards are met and communicated throughout the entire healthcare organization;

  • Oversee compliance with the State of Connecticut's Code of Ethics for Public Officials and State Employees, which outlines prohibited activities and potential conflicts of interest to prevent public officials and employees from using their positions for personal gain or improperly influencing state actions.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - GENERAL EXPERIENCE

Nine (9) years of professional experience in a healthcare agency with primary responsibility for the research, development, planning and review of compliance, legislative and/or regulatory programs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - SUBSTITUTIONS ALLOWED
  • College training may be substituted for the General Experience on the basis of fifteen (15) semester hours equalling one-half (1/2) year of experience to a maximum of four (4) years for a Bachelor’s degree.
  • A Master’s degree in public policy, public administration, public health, health care administration, nursing or a related field or a law degree may be substituted for one (1) additional year of the General Experience.
