Compassionate Substance Abuse Counselor

Position Overview:

Substance Abuse Counselor will assist patients through medical programs, offering techniques for opioid addiction, conduct group/individual sessions, crisis management, coping strategies, evaluate progress, collaborate with doctors, nurses, therapists.

• Conduct individual initial assessment and evaluation interviews for service eligibility determination
• Facilitate, establish, and review with each patient the initial treatment plan
• Complete bio-psychosocial assessment
• Provide individual and group counseling services; direct service hours at scheduled intervals; coordinate all services throughout treatment
• Develop and participate in individual or group patient teaching projects
• Respond as needed to patient grievances and complaints
• Other related duties as determined by supervisor

• Required:
  
  Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor certification (CADC)
• Preferred: LCSW/LICSW, LMHC, and/or LADC
• Demonstrated counseling experience
• Previous experience working with chemically dependent individuals
• Must demonstrate a positive, non-judgmental, accepting attitude toward our patient population
• Bi‑Lingual preferred
• Satisfactory criminal background check and drug screen
