Compassionate Substance Abuse Counselor
Position Overview:
Substance Abuse Counselor will assist patients through medical programs, offering techniques for opioid addiction, conduct group/individual sessions, crisis management, coping strategies, evaluate progress, collaborate with doctors, nurses, therapists.
- Conduct individual initial assessment and evaluation interviews for service eligibility determination
- Facilitate, establish, and review with each patient the initial treatment plan
- Complete bio-psychosocial assessment
- Provide individual and group counseling services; direct service hours at scheduled intervals; coordinate all services throughout treatment
- Develop and participate in individual or group patient teaching projects
- Respond as needed to patient grievances and complaints
- Other related duties as determined by supervisor
- Required:
Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor certification (CADC) - Preferred: LCSW/LICSW, LMHC, and/or LADC
- Demonstrated counseling experience
- Previous experience working with chemically dependent individuals
- Must demonstrate a positive, non-judgmental, accepting attitude toward our patient population
- Bi‑Lingual preferred
- Satisfactory criminal background check and drug screen
