Hartford Health Care is one of the largest and most respected teaching hospitals in New England. We are a Level 1 Trauma Center that provides cutting edge treatment to its patients and home to the largest robotic surgery center in the Northeast and the Center for Education, Simulation and Innovation (CESI).

SPS Technician are not yet certified and will be required to train under the direct supervision of SPS Technician 3 or other assigned trainer for a minimum of 60 days. While training, the SPS Technician Non-Certified will perform duties including decontamination, instrument assembly, packaging, sterilization and case cart assembly. As required, job skills will be assessed and validated by their trainer and the SPS Site Manager before completion of the training program.

This role, upon completion of the training program, prepares the SPS Tech for obtaining Sterile Processing Distribution Technician Certification and promotion to SPS Tech 1.

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Licensure, Certification, Registration: Must obtain  Sterile Processing Distribution Technician Certification  from the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution Inc. (CBSPD) or Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) from IAHCSMM within 24 months of hire (in accordance with CT state law).
