Medical Assistant - Neurology Oncology – Hartford Health Care

Shift: Monday-Friday

• Provides direct patient care under the direction of provider and nurses, including vitals, allergy & medication reconciliation, screenings, patient history, health maintenance, advance directives, and virtual health.
• Provides indirect patient care such as scheduling, work queues/worklists, check‑in/check‑out, referrals, in‑basket, chart preparation, non‑clinical patient result callbacks, prior authorizations, and transportation facilitation.
• Conducts point‑of‑care testing and quality control: EKG, Hemoglobin A1C, urinalysis, Hemoglobin POCT, urine toxicity, INR, hCG.

• Diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant program OR an active CT CNA, EMT, Paramedic Certification OR relative experience.

In lieu of education requirement, at least one year of experience in direct patient care (acute or ambulatory space) may be considered.
