Nocturnal Physician Assistant - Full-Time 36 hours (Nights)

· Schedule 4 days on/8 days off from 5 p.m. to 5 a.m.

· Schedule based on working 1,488 hours annually/124 shifts but paid for 1,872 (includes regular hours, vacation, sick, all diffs/premiums)

Summary:

Middlesex Hospital is offering an exciting opportunity for a Physician Assistant to work on a busy surgical service. The position offers a block schedule that alternates four consecutive 12-hour night shifts with eight straight days off.

The primary responsibilities include surgical admissions and consults, patient evaluations, and first assisting in the operating room. The position encompasses care across all surgical specialties. The Physician Assistant will be expected to manage postoperative patients and participate in decision-making on routine and emergent issues. The position allows independent evaluation and decision-making with appropriate surgeon support and guidance.

Minimum Requirements:

Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program with an emphasis on surgery. Successful completion of the NCCPA examination and licensed to practice in the State of CT

The position requires at least one (1) year of experience as a Physician Assistant in a surgical or ICU field.

The salary is commensurate with experience and offers a competitive benefit package.
