Interventional Technologist – Cardiac Lab

Location:

81 Retreat Ave HH Core Bldg (10067)

Shift: 36 hours per week, 3 12‑hour shifts per week with alternating weekend and on‑call duties.

Join Hartford Hospital’s high‑performing Cath Lab as an interventional technologist. You will support a range of complex cardiac procedures, including structural heart interventions performed in collaboration with the OR team. Your role will involve the circulating, monitoring, and scrub functions, and you will become proficient with contrast injectors, ultrasounds, IVUS, mechanical thrombectomy devices, atherectomy supplies, and a wide array of catheters, balloons, stents, coils, etc.

Responsibilities
  • Assists with patient preparation and positioning for invasive cardiac procedures.
  • Manages equipment setup, contrast administration, and imaging acquisition.
  • Maintains radiation safety, applying ALARA principles and sending images to the PACS system.
  • Collaborates with the interventional team (physician, nurses, technicians) to ensure smooth procedural flow.
  • Provides post‑processing of images and documentation of patient data.
  • Performs routine equipment maintenance and inventory management.
Qualifications
  • Graduation from an AMA‑accredited radiography program.
  • ARRT credentialed radiology technologist and CT radiographer license.
  • Ability to work independently while being a strong team player.
  • Maintains education requirements per ARRT standards.
  • CI or VI, advanced ARRT certification preferred but not required.
  • Cath lab, interventional radiology or hybrid OR room experience preferred.
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required.
