About the Position
The State of Connecticut’s Department of Administrative Services (DAS), Bureau of Information Technology Solutions (BITS), is hiring an Application Support Manager (IT Manager
2). The manager will lead a team that provides second‑ and third‑level support for all DCF‑developed and/or hosted applications.
- Manage, coach, and lead a team that provides level‑2 and level‑3 support for DCF‑hosted applications.
- Oversee incident and problem management, serving as the primary escalation manager for major incidents and providing status updates to senior leadership.
- Guide the team through the transition from on‑premises hosting to cloud‑based solutions.
- Collaborate with development and QA managers to ensure proper Dev Ops processes and quality controls throughout the development lifecycle.
- Oversee production control, release, and support processes, and implement Dev Ops practices for in‑house and vendor‑based development.
- Contribute to disaster recovery and business continuity planning from the production application support perspective.
- Prepare and present status reports on application availability and performance using tools such as Solar Winds Orion.
Minimum Requirements
- 10 years of experience in computer or network administration, architecture, operations, production control, systems development, or IT analysis and planning.
- At least 2 years of supervisory experience or 1 year in a managerial capacity (e.g., IT Supervisor, IT Manager 1, or Agency IT Manager).
- Experience with Salesforce (SaaS CRM), Mule Soft, Azure SQL Server, and Tableau.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure Dev Ops Server or Microsoft Team Foundation Server.
- Experience providing 24/7 call‑out support for business‑critical enterprise systems.
- Experience in an environment that utilized Dev Ops practices.
- Experience with Microsoft IIS hosted applications on Windows Server 2016 or higher.
