Open Data Analyst (Research Analyst)

Location:

450 Capitol Avenue, Hartford, CT

Schedule:

Full‑time, Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week.

• Develop and update open data resources, including managing public data requests and monitoring data quality.
• Conduct metadata audits, publish and archive datasets, and support agency open data access plans.
• Assist in creating data stories, dashboards, and visualization options using open data.
• Provide technical support for the open data portal, manage user accounts, and automate data updates.
• Develop and implement training, outreach, and documentation for data users and governance.

• Six (6) years of professional experience in research, data analysis, or economics.
• Proficiency in R and/or Python for data analysis.
• Experience with data visualization, dashboards, and statistical concepts.
• Strong written and oral communication skills and ability to explain complex topics to a general audience.
• Experience managing, cleaning, and analyzing large datasets, and developing workflow templates.

• Background in state, municipal, or federal government data work.
• Experience designing compelling graphics and dashboards.
• Experience streamlining processes and improving user experience.
