The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What Is the Opportunity?Travelers is seeking a Network Engineer II to join our organization as we grow and transform our Enterprise Technology Solutions organization. Our Network Engineers orchestrate high-performance network topologies, implement redundant architectures for business continuity, establish security frameworks through firewalls, and leverage automation and Infrastructure as Code methodologies to enable rapid, consistent network provisioning. By creating resilient, scalable, and secure network foundations, Network Engineering directly impacts the organization’s operational capabilities, digital transformation initiatives, and ability to deliver seamless technology experiences to both internal and external customers across increasingly complex hybrid and multi-cloud environments.

What Will You Do?- This role will be primarily responsible for managing and supporting DNS, DHCP, IP Management infrastructure and services, on premise and in the cloud, and support service automation and pipeline development for delivery to end users.
- Responsible for performing complex analysis, design and implementation of network infrastructure platforms across cloud and on-premises environments with a degree of accuracy and speed as an individual contributor.
- Define and implement advanced technical requirements for network infrastructure solutions using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) best practices.
- Design and optimize network deployment processes and automation workflows for hybrid cloud environments.
- Facilitate architecture of robust network infrastructure solutions that support connectivity services across the technology stack.
- Work independently on both well-scoped and loosely scoped network infrastructure engineering problems in complex environments.
- Implement comprehensive monitoring and disaster recovery systems for network infrastructure across cloud and on-premises deployments.
- Provide technical guidance to less experienced Network Engineers while expanding knowledge in emerging network infrastructure technologies.

- Perform other duties as assigned.
- 5-6 years of network engineering/administration experience preferred.
- Demonstrated track record of network platform expertise with understanding of technical concepts necessary for effective network management, awareness of network industry trends, willingness and concern for business issues and network priorities, in-depth knowledge of immediate network systems and some knowledge of adjacent systems.
- Intermediate delivery skills including accurate timeline estimation for network tasks, steady delivery pace to achieve commitments, contribution to network architecture strategy, building for different use cases while staying solution focused, ensuring automation, delivering complete network solutions in small batches, and identifying/negotiating important tradeoffs.
