Tech Projects is seeking a highly skilled Workday Absence Management Techno-Functional Lead / Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support one of our direct insurance sector clients in Hartford, CT. The client is currently engaged in a merger & acquisition (M&A) initiative, and this role will play a critical part in ensuring seamless HR technology integration.

Lead the design, configuration, and implementation of Workday Absence Management solutions. Partner with business and technical teams to define requirements, deliver functional/technical design, and support conversions and interfaces. Provide subject matter expertise on Absence Management processes including Employee Self-Service Manager Dashboards, Automated Processes, Policy & Leave Plan Management, Integrated Platform Capabilities, Analytics & Reporting, Mobile Access, and Configurability. Collaborate with stakeholders during the M&A transition, ensuring compliance, data accuracy, and process continuity.

Deliver high-quality documentation, testing, and knowledge transfer to business users.

Strong techno-functional expertise in Workday Absence Management. Proven experience with design, conversions, and interface development in Workday. Prior involvement in merger & acquisition (M&A) projects is highly desirable. Experience with in the insurance industry is a plus (not mandatory). Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Primarily remote role with occasional travel (up to 10%) to Hartford, CT. Opportunity to contribute to a high-impact initiative within a dynamic and evolving environment.
