We’re hiring a Claims Examiner in our Claims Division Shared Services Team. The role involves investigating, evaluating, and resolving commercial first‑ and third‑party low‑complexity claims with accurate documentation and timely resolution. This position is based in Hartford, CT.
Position SummaryResponsibilities include:
- Provide and maintain exceptional customer service and communication throughout the life of the claim.
- Investigate coverage, liability and damages; document facts and maintain evidence.
- Review and analyze supporting damage documentation.
- Stay abreast of statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Establish loss and expense reserves with documented rationale.
- Execute best claim handling practices and guidelines efficiently.
- Hands‑on experience with Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
- Knowledge of Image Right preferred.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication, influencing, evaluation, listening, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to contribute to strategic discussions and make cost‑effective decisions.
- Strong time‑management and organizational skills; adherence to regulatory timelines.
- Can work independently and within a team.
- Texas Claim Adjuster license preferred; candidates will need to obtain a Texas license within six months if required.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 3‑5 years of experience handling commercial insurance claims.
Base salary: $71,900 – $97,110 per year. Total compensation includes base salary, short‑ and long‑term incentives, and benefits. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, prescription drug coverage, 401(k) with matching, PTO (20 days per year), paid holidays, volunteer time, life & AD&D insurance, short‑/long‑term disability, paid parental leave, student loan assistance, tuition reimbursement, backup child and elder care.
