Onsite American Sign Language Interpreters – Hartford, CT

Propio Language Services is hiring onsite American Sign Language (ASL) interpreters to provide high‑quality interpretation services for a diverse client base in the Hartford, CT area.

• Provides consecutive in‑person and virtual interpretation by phone and video, delivering first‑person support.
• Follows interpreter protocols and procedures as required by Propio L.S. clients.
• Adheres to Propio L.S. policies on information confidentiality and interpreter ethics.
• Maintains strict patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA, FERPA, GLBA and related regulatory requirements.
• Establishes and maintains quality service and positive interaction with all patients, customers, visitors, health care providers, and clinical employees.
• Continuously improves vocabulary and specialized subject matter knowledge for medical, legal, social services, and other client contexts.

• Submission of an updated resume.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Intermediate computer skills.
• Access to reliable transportation.
• Documentation of updated vaccinations, including but not limited to TB, MMR, Varicella, Hep B, TDAP, seasonal influenza (Flu), and Covid.
• Successful completion of a drug test and background check & security screen.
• Signed commitment to confidentiality, ethics, and HIPAA compliance.

• 1+ years of interpreting experience.

• National Council on Interpreting in Health Care (NCIHC)
• International Medical Interpreters Association (IMIA)
• California Healthcare Interpreters Association (CHIA)
