Associate General Counsel

Description We are looking for an experienced Associate General Counsel to join our team in Hartford, Connecticut. This is a long-term contract position that requires a skilled legal expert with strong attention to detail to provide strategic guidance on complex litigation and regulatory matters. The role will involve collaborating closely with external counsel, government officials, and hospital leadership.

Responsibilities:

- Provide legal expertise and oversight in managing litigation cases and ensuring strong representation.

- Offer guidance on regulatory risks and ambiguities, particularly in healthcare-related matters.

- Advise on legal issues surrounding transgender care and other specialized areas.

- Collaborate directly with the Attorney General, external counsel, and hospital administration to build effective partnerships.

- Assist in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts when necessary.

- Manage overflow tasks related to compliance and contract management in coordination with other attorneys.

- Develop legal strategies to address emerging challenges and ensure organizational compliance.

- Support the legal team in resolving complex in-house matters as they arise. Requirements - Proven experience in contract negotiations and litigation.

- Strong ability to analyze and address regulatory risks and ambiguities.

- Background in healthcare law or related legal fields is highly preferred.

- Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with government officials, external counsel, and organizational leadership.

- Familiarity with legal matters related to transgender care is an advantage.

- Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate with a team of attorneys.

- Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills.

- Licensed to practice law with a strong track record of integrity and attention to detail.
