Saint Francis Hospital – Level 3 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) consists of 28 beds. Preterm and term neonates in need of additional medical and surgical management and highly specialized care are admitted to the unit.

What You Will Do- Attend births and provide care for infants with medical complications directly after birth
- Monitor the health of infants suffering from medical issues, such as prematurity or congenital defects
- Educate new parents on the care of their infant, including basic infant care, breastfeeding, and safety
- Contribute to overall quality of nursing care through performance improvement techniques that impact patient care positively
- Communicate effectively (written and verbal) with admin, colleagues, patients and family members
- Demonstrate problem solving, conflict resolution, and positive communication through teamwork
- Education:
Graduate of an accredited college or university affiliated nursing program. BSN graduate preferred - Licensure:
Current Licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Connecticut - Certification: BLS CPR. ACLS Preferred
- Preferred Experience:
Acute Care, Medical‑Surgical or Maternity nursing experience preferred. 1‑2 years of NICU experience required for Per Diems
- Work Schedule:
Per Diem, Rotating Shifts - Award‑winning Hospitals and departments
