Description
At Saint Francis Hospital the Postpartum/Maternity unit consists of 29 private rooms for postpartum, newborn, antepartum and gynecology patients. Maternity nurses are responsible for providing care to women who are pregnant, recently gave birth, newborns or for the woman who has had gynecological surgery.

What You Will Do- Provide emotional support and guidance to new mothers, educate parents on best practices for feeding, bathing, and sleeping, as well as support breastfeeding
- Monitor women and newborns for signs of illness or complications
- Contribute to overall quality of nursing care through performance improvement techniques that impact patient care positively
- Communicate effectively (written and verbal) with admin, colleagues, patients and family members
- Educate patients and family members so that they have a transparent understanding of the care being provided
- Education:
Graduate of an accredited college or university affiliated nursing program. BSN graduate preferred - Licensure:
Current Licensure as a Registered Nurse RN in Connecticut - Certification: BLS CPR. ACLS Preferred
- Preferred Experience:
Acute Care, Medical‑Surgical or Maternity nursing experience preferred. Two years' experience for per diem positions
- Work Schedule:
Per Diem, Rotating Shifts - Award‑winning Hospitals and departments
