Maintenance Technician – B
Transdev in East Hartford, CT is seeking an experienced B‑Level Maintenance Technician to bolster our team. This role demands expertise in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining engines across various vehicles and equipment, ensuring safety, efficiency, and longevity for our fleet.
Compensation- $26.50 – $27.30 per hour (competitive package)
- Additional $0.25 hourly premium for ASE certifications (up to
4)
- Vacation: minimum 1 week
- Sick days: 5 days
- Holidays: 12 days (8 standard + 4 floating)

- Conduct diagnostic tests using advanced tools and software to troubleshoot engine issues.
- Perform moderate to advanced repairs and replacements on engine components, ensuring optimal functionality.
- Assist A‑Level Maintenance Technicians with advanced diagnostic and repair tasks, contributing to efficient workflow.
- Execute routine maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns and optimize engine performance.
- Lead diagnostic tests to identify complex issues and develop comprehensive repair strategies for diesel engines.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior technicians.
- Other duties as required.
- 1 year experience as an Auto Maintenance Technician
- ASE certifications preferred; program provided
- Proficient mechanic’s tool set
- Available to work shifts or flexible schedules as needed
- Subject to DOT drug testing and physical; compliance with 49 CFR Part 40
- Work outdoors in varying temperatures, weather, and humidity; 100% of the job is performed outside, often alone in remote locations.
- Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day); frequently walk long distances on uneven or slippery surfaces.
- Push, pull, or lift objects up to 20 lbs; lift materials up to 50 lbs with or without assistance; bend, kneel, or crouch as needed.
- Work in heavy traffic areas and tolerate dust, vehicle fumes, and noise.
