POSITION SUMMARY:
- The Warewash Technician reports to the Senior Service Manager

Position Summary:
The Warewash Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing commercial warewashing and dishwashing equipment at customer locations such as restaurants, cafeterias, hospitality venues, and other food service establishments. This role ensures optimal performance of warewash systems to support sanitation, safety, and compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair commercial dish machines, glass washers, under counter units, conveyor systems, 3‑compartment sink systems, boosters, and related sanitation equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and chemical feed issues in warewash systems.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance, descaling, calibration, and component replacements.
Technical Support
- Respond to service calls in a timely manner; troubleshoot onsite and resolve equipment malfunctions.
- Calibrate chemical dispensing equipment and ensure correct concentration levels per manufacturer and health department requirements.
- Interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and equipment manuals to guide repairs.
Customer Service
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding repair status, equipment care, and maintenance best practices.
- Provide basic training to kitchen staff on proper operation, care, and safety protocols.
- Maintain a professional demeanor that reflects the company’s service standards.
Documentation & Compliance
- Complete work orders, service reports, and inventory usage documentation accurately.
- Maintain compliance with OSHA safety standards, food safety regulations, and company policies.
- Track parts usage and communicate inventory needs to the service department.
Qualifications:
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- 1–3 years of experience in field service, commercial food service equipment repair, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or similar mechanical trade.
- Basic understanding of electrical (120V/208V/240V) and plumbing (water and drainage systems).
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Preferred:
- Experience servicing commercial dish machines (e.g., Hobart, Jackson, CMA, Champion, Moyer Diebel, MEIKO, or similar brands).
- Knowledge of chemical dispensing systems (warewash, 3‑sink sanitizers, rinse aids, detergents).
- EPA Section 608 certification (where applicable) or willingness to obtain.
- Technical or trade school certification in mechanics, electronics, or refrigeration.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities.
- Mechanical aptitude with understanding of pumps, motors, solenoids, and sensors.
- Familiarity with water softeners, booster heaters, and descaling procedures.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage daily service routes.
- Strong time management and documentation accuracy.
