Position

5th & 6th Multi-Grade Ministry Purpose.

Primary Responsibilities

The following constitute the major responsibilities of the Teacher:

Spiritual
  • Seek to be a role model in attitude, speech and actions in a consistent daily walk with Jesus Christ.
  • Show by example the importance of Scripture memorization, Bible study, prayer, witnessing, and Christian fellowship.
  • Integrate Biblical principles and a Christian worldview into all curricula and teaching.
  • Elementary School Teachers:
    Lead Chapel with class at least two (2) times/year.
  • Be prepared to communicate the school’s religious beliefs to students and others who inquire.
  • Be ready to pray with and offer spiritual advice to students, faculty, and staff.
  • Follow Matthew 18 principles in addressing issues with students, parents, faculty, and staff.
  • Always exhibit a positive, supportive attitude through words and actions about MVCS toward faculty, staff, students, families, and the outside community.
  • Be ableto engage students, earn their trust and attention, and act as mediator among students.
  • Intentionally integrates Biblical values and morals.
  • Assess students’ spiritual needs to lead to them in spiritual growth.

  • QUALIFICATIONS
  • Be a mature, born‑again Christian who fully supports the MVCS Statements of Faith and Responsibilities and performs in such a way as to fulfill the school mission, purpose and philosophy of faith‑based education.
  • Be committed to furthering the school’s Christian mission and philosophy of faith‑based education.
  • Be called and committed to the ministry of MVCS. Does not regard their responsibilities as just a job, but as a ministry and feels a high sense of commitment to the Lord and His calling on his/her life to be at MVCS.
  • Be willing to submit to and honor the standards outlined in the Employee Handbook and/or the Code of Conduct.
  • Faithfully attend and financially support a local church whose beliefs are in agreement with the school.
  • Evidence of knowledge of content and pedagogy through experience and training.
  • Bachelor’s degree and experience in the educational field.
  • State licensure or certification can be acquired.
  • Able to pass background, fingerprinting, and child protection registry check.
  • Certification in child/adult CPR & first aid (or will get upon hiring).
  • Understanding of the principles of child development, best practices and educational methods.
  • Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms.
  • Communication and instructional skills.
  • Balance between a creative mind and a practical judgement.
  • Accountable to current Principal and Head of School
