Adult Ed Hartford Area Career & Technology Center, located at 1 Gifford Road, White River Junction, Vermont, provides career-focused education and training to prepare students 17+ for success in business, health care and the trades. Serving the Upper Valley community for 50 years, we are dedicated to equipping adult learners with practical skills and knowledge. Our commitment to excellence makes us a cornerstone for education and technical training in the Hartford area.

Role Description

This is an on‑site, part‑time role for an Electrical 1 Instructor based in Hartford, VT. The instructor will deliver high‑quality training in electrical systems, emphasizing safety, maintenance, and operations. Responsibilities include designing and implementing curriculum, teaching foundational and advanced concepts of electricity, ensuring students gain practical skills and industry‑relevant knowledge, mentoring students, and preparing them for success in the electrical field.

Classes are taught Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 5‑8 pm and Saturday 8‑1 pm for 12 weeks.

Responsibilities
  • Design and implement curriculum for Electrical 1 courses.
  • Teach foundational and advanced concepts of electricity.
  • Ensure students gain practical skills and industry‑relevant knowledge.
  • Mentor students and prepare them for success in the electrical field.
  • Manage classroom operations and maintain safety standards.
Qualifications
  • Expertise in Electrical Safety and Electrical Maintenance.
  • Strong knowledge of Electricity principles and systems.
  • Experience in Training and Curriculum Development.
  • Excellent communication and teaching skills.
  • Ability to engage and motivate students in a hands‑on learning environment.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and practices in the electrical field.
  • Industry certification or licensure in electrical systems is preferred.
  • Previous teaching experience in a career and technical education environment is a plus.
