Manual Turner​/Miller

Position: Manual Turner/Miller (Permanent)
Location: Hart

Our client Manufacturing precision machined castings, they are currently seeking an experienced Manual Turner/Miller to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of machining processes and be proficient in operating manual lathes and related equipment. The role includes producing components to exact specifications while maintaining high-quality production standards.

Main duties:

Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings to support accurate component manufacturing.
Utilize strong mathematical abilities and precision measuring tools to verify dimensions and tolerances.
Manufacture components to exact specifications using a range of equipment, including lathes, milling machines, and drilling tools.
Conduct in-process inspections with gauges and measurement instruments to ensure quality standards are met.
Contribute actively to continuous improvement efforts within the production environment.
Consistently maintain precise tolerances while upholding health and safety best practices with strong attention to detail.

Experience and skills required :

Hands-on experience working within a machining or workshop environment.
Proficient in operating manual and semi-automatic lathes and milling machines, including Prototrak and XYZ equipment.
Possess time-served qualifications such as ONC, NVQ, or equivalent apprenticeship training.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Self-motivated, capable of working independently, and effective as part of a team.
Physically fit and able to meet the practical demands of the role
