Job Description:
Offshore Storekeeper
Location: Hartlepool, Northeast England
Contract: 1 year, outside IR35
Working Schedule: Rotational, 14/14. 12 hour days
Overview:
The Offshore Storekeeper is responsible for the safe, accurate and efficient management of all materials, spare parts, consumables and tooling onboard the vessel. The role ensures technicians have the correct equipment available to maintain offshore operations while maintaining full inventory accuracy, traceability and compliance and customer procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect and accurately book in all deliveries to the vessel.
- Maintain accurate stock records using the company inventory management system.
- Pick, issue and return materials, spare parts and consumables to technicians.
- Manage offshore tooling, ensuring equipment is available, serviceable and correctly stored.
- Maintain stock locations and ensure the stores remain organised, clean and safe at all times.
- Complete regular cycle counts and support full inventory audits.
- Report stock discrepancies, shortages and damaged materials.
- Coordinate material transfers between vessel, warehouse and suppliers.
- Prepare outbound returns, repair items and surplus materials for shipment back
to shore.
- Ensure hazardous materials are stored and handled in accordance with relevant legislation and company procedures.
- Support vessel mobilisation and demobilisation activities.
- Maintain accurate documentation for manifests, delivery notes and material movements.
- Liaise daily with the onshore warehouse team, planners, commissioning teams and logistics personnel.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve inventory accuracy and material availability.
- Comply with all Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality (HSEQ) requirements.
Key Accountabilities:
- Maintain high inventory accuracy.
- Ensure technicians receive the correct materials when required.
- Minimise material shortages and delays to offshore operations.
- Ensure full traceability of all stock movements.
- Maintain housekeeping standards within the offshore stores.
- Support efficient vessel operations through effective material planning.
Skills & Experience:
- Experience with in warehouse, stores or logistics operations.
- Good understanding of inventory control and stock management.
- Good IT skills including Microsoft Office.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced offshore environment.
- High attention to detail.
