Public Health Associate – Climate x Health

Khushi Baby, a global health organization at the forefront of India’s public health transformation, is hiring a Public Health Associate to join our Climate Health Vulnerability Index (CHVI) initiative.

You will work at the frontline of the climate × health intersection—visiting vulnerable hotspots, validating hospital records, and engaging with community and facility-level health staff. Your insights will directly inform CHVI tools and dashboards developed by our data science team, supporting state and district-level public health action.

As part of a dynamic and impact-driven team, you will contribute to India’s first village-level climate-health vulnerability assessment
, integrating data-driven decision-making into government health systems. This role is pivotal in validating real-world health data and building evidence on climate-health vulnerabilities across Rajasthan. • Travel to districts across Rajasthan
  , visiting CHVI-identified heat, air pollution, and vector-borne disease hotspots.
• Conduct field validation by reviewing facility-level hospital records and correlating them with CHVI-generated vulnerability and exposure data.
• Engage with frontline and facility-level staff including ASHA workers, CHOs, ANMs, MOs
  , and district officials to gather qualitative and quantitative inputs.
• Support Health Management Information System (HMIS) data validation efforts and cross-reference findings with the central data science team.
• Document on-ground insights to improve CHVI model accuracy and ensure tools are grounded in public health realities.
• Provide feedback on tool usability and local applicability of climate-health insights.
• Assist in training sessions and stakeholder consultations as needed.

• A Master’s degree in Public Health, Community Health, Health Administration
  , or a related discipline.
• At least 1 year of field experience working within public health systems, preferably involving government engagement or health data collection.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with ground-level health workers and facility staff
  .
• Comfort with extensive travel across urban and rural parts of Rajasthan (up to 60–70% of the time).
• Familiarity with HMIS and experience navigating hospital records and/or public health datasets.

CTC: ₹5.5 – ₹8 LPA (depending on experience and skills)
