Bring your expertise in sign language interpretation to a dynamic high school environment near Harvard, IL! We are seeking two dedicated professionals for part-time contract positions, providing essential communication access to students in mainstream classrooms.
Key Details:- Part-time contract roles: 0.5 FTE, working 11:0 am to 3:00 pm daily, Monday through Friday.
- Start as soon as possible and continue through May 30, 2027.
- Support high school students in a mainstream setting, ensuring engagement and equal participation.
Qualifications:
- Possess a valid Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) score 3.5 or higher, along with Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) certification.
- Candidates with an EIPA score 3.0+ may also consider with IBSE approval.
- Demonstrated experience or training in an educational setting is highly valued.
- Strong proficiency in American Sign Language, with professional sensitivity and cultural awareness.
- Effective collaboration skills for working with teachers, staff, and students.
- Provide clear and accurate interpretation between spoken English and American Sign Language in classroom and school environments.
- Facilitate communication among students, staff, and peers, contributing to an inclusive atmosphere.
- Collaborate with educators to understand lesson content and classroom dynamics for optimal interpretation.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and comply with all applicable educational and ethical standards.
