Educational Sign Language Interpreter - Harvey, Louisiana

This full-time position is located near Harvey, LA, with a focus on providing vital communication access to students in an engaging educational environment. Qualifications:

• Demonstrated proficiency as a Sign Language Interpreter in school settings
• Experience with virtual interpreting platforms (VOCO experience required)
• EIPA score of 4.0 (both performance and written), and active listing on the Louisiana Interpreter Registry (LCDC Interpreter Registry - Dept. of Health)
• RID and NIC certifications are also accepted, provided the written component is met
• Previous experience working with high school-aged students is highly preferred
• Ability to manage varying caseloads and adapt to different school sites as assigned

Responsibilities:

• Deliver clear and accurate sign language interpretation for high school students according to specified IEPs and educational plans
• Work 35 hours weekly, Monday through Friday, following the school calendar from ASAP through late May 2027
• Collaborate closely with students, teachers, and support staff to foster an inclusive academic atmosphere
• Travel as needed to various school locations within the district (number of schools and student caseload to be determined)
• Maintain up-to-date records in compliance with all school and regulatory requirements
