SKILLED GENERAL LABORER
Ground Technician / Skilled Laborer
Location: Greater New Orleans & Surrounding Areas
Pay: $16 (Potential for temp-to-hire full-time employment)
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday (Some Overtime May Be Available)
Job SummaryThe client is seeking a dependable Ground Technician / Skilled Laborer to join a professional French drain and yard drainage installation team serving Greater New Orleans and surrounding areas. This position is ideal for candidates with a strong construction labor background who enjoy working outdoors and take pride in producing quality work.
Responsibilities- Assist with the installation of French drains, yard drainage systems, and stormwater management solutions
- Perform trenching, digging, grading, and site preparation activities
- Load, unload, and move materials and equipment as needed
- Measure and mark work areas using tape measures and basic construction tools
- Maintain a clean and safe worksite
- Follow all company safety procedures and jobsite requirements
- Work effectively as part of a team to complete projects on schedule
- Must have reliable personal transportation to travel to various job sites throughout Greater New Orleans and surrounding areas
- Must provide and wear appropriate PPE, including work boots and safety gear (hard hat not required; a hat for sun protection is recommended)
- Skilled construction labor experience required
- Experience with trenching, digging, drainage work, underground utilities, landscaping construction, or site preparation strongly preferred
- Ability to accurately read a tape measure
- Ability to work outdoors in Louisiana heat and weather conditions
- Dependable attendance with the ability to arrive on time each day
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, bending, digging, and standing for extended periods
