Interim Financial Accountant Contract Length: 3-4 months Daily Rate: £350 - £400

Central London Job Type: Full-time, 4 days per week in the office We are currently seeking an experienced and Qualified Accountant to join our client’s finance team on a temporary basis, who are a specialist within the construction sector. This role is crucial for supporting the preparation of the Group’s year-end accounts and managing the external audit process. This role will require a fully qualified Accountant with a background in statutory accounts/financial statements preparation and support or leading on an audit process.

Day-to-day of the role:
Prepare and review year-end balance sheet reconciliations, supporting schedules, and audit working papers. Ensure all year-end files are complete, accurate, and audit-ready. Coordinate the preparation and collation of information required by external auditors. Serve as the key day-to-day contact for the audit team, managing the audit request list and addressing outstanding queries. Proactively follow up with finance team members and the wider business to ensure timely information delivery.

Review audit queries and prepare well-supported responses. Identify and address accounting issues during the year-end process in collaboration with senior finance management and auditors. Assist with the preparation and review of statutory accounts and supporting disclosures. Support the reconciliation of management accounts to the year-end statutory reporting position. Maintain clear records of audit adjustments and accounting judgements. Monitor the year-end and audit timetable, highlighting potential delays or issues promptly.

Provide additional financial accounting and reporting support as needed during the year-end process. Required Skills &

Qualifications:

Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) Extensive experience in financial accounting and year-end reporting. Proven track record in managing or playing a significant role in an external audit. Excellent balance sheet reconciliation and analytical skills. Ability to manage own workload and deadlines with minimal supervision. Strong Excel skills and confidence in handling large volumes of financial data. Clear and confident communication abilities.
