We are currently forward planning for future roles that may become available as an Area
Welcome Host
. If you are successful in your application, you will be placed in our Talent Bank for up to six months. If a suitable opportunity becomes available during that time, you may be offered a role.

Please note that we are unable to accept your application if you do not meet the following criteria.

  • You will be working an average of 35 hours per week, working alternative Saturdays.
    This role is shift-based, which includes, early starts, late finishes, weekends.
  • This posting is for future roles across different locations (Clacton, Thorpe-Le-Soken, Harwich International & Walton-on-the-Naze), shift times will depend on the location, however the role would require either one or a combination of early or lates shifts ranging from 06:00 – 21:30.
  • You must be able to arrange your own transport to ensure timely arrival for early and late shifts.
  • Candidates will be subject to a Right to Work check & DBS check for this position
  • This vacancy is for persons aged 18 and over.

The Role

The purpose of this role is to provide a safe environment whilst delivering effective customer service and seeking opportunities to enhance customer experience at our station.

Key Responsibilities
  • Creating a welcoming environment whilst providing pro-active assistance to our customers on and off trains is important in this role.
  • Responsible for all matters regarding to safety, security, cash regulations and maintenance of the ticket machines.
  • Carrying out winter precautions as per station arrangements.
  • Maintaining security and station cleaning in order to uphold the appearance of our station
  • Security checks as part of the station security plans (SSP). Dependent on the station there are varying levels of security checks – from every 30 minutes to twice a day- looking for left items, waste bins being secure, and doors being shut and / or locked etc)
