Overview

As a Team Leader, you'll be giving day-to-day support to your team to ensure they consistently provide great service to everyone who visits the cafe. This is a busy, lively place to work, so you’ll need to be adaptable. Your focus will be front of house, dealing directly with people and serving food and drink. You will supervise the induction and training of colleagues to build a team dedicated to great service and providing a memorable experience for customers.

You’ll receive an induction tailored to the job, training in allergens and food safety, and mentoring as needed. Ongoing professional development is available if you wish.

Responsibilities
  • Provide day-to-day support to the team and ensure high standards of service.
  • Supervise induction and training of colleagues.
  • Support the kitchen team with food preparation when required.
  • Ensure displays and signs are accurate and the food presentation looks appealing.
  • Lead with a positive, proactive attitude and work to improve service quality.
  • Manage and respond to a variety of customer situations, including complaints.
Qualifications
  • No prior experience required, but we welcome applicants who are focused on delivering great service.
  • Team player who can also work on your own initiative.
  • Well-organised and adaptable with the ability to lead, support and develop a team.
  • Confident in handling a range of situations, including complaints.
  • Willing to learn new skills.
