Patient Care Technician – DaVita Kidney Care

DaVita Kidney Care is looking for a float Patient Care Tech to serve our patients at the Historical Hastings Dialysis Center in Hastings, MN.

Base pay: $18.00/hr - $27.50/hr

• Work 10–12 hour shifts 3–4 days a week (including every other Saturday, closed on Sundays). Clinics open as early as 3:30 am and stay open until 8 pm. Teammates must be available to open and close.
• Float between all clinics in the region (Cottage Grove, Northfield, Woodbury, Faribault). Float compensation is provided.
• Typically work 32–40 hours per week. Flexible schedule, able to work mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays.
• Participate in DaVita’s paid training program (classroom and hands‑on). Reimbursement for Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHT) license.
• Provide direct patient care (approximately 4 patients at a time). Monitor patients before, during, and after dialysis (measure/status, observations, machine set‑up). Exposure to blood and needles.
• Support continuous improvement and build long‑term relationships with patients (average 3 times a week).
• Work under RN supervision, as part of a cross‑functional team of clinicians, dietitians, social workers, and leadership.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Comfortable working around blood and needles.
• Comfortable mixing acid or bicarbonate, including heavy lifting.
• Physical and mental ability to work long hours (some shifts 12+ hours) while on feet. Wear comfortable shoes.
• Willingness to train and work across multiple clinics within territory.
• Preferred healthcare experience: BONENT Certified, Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHT), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Phlebotomy certification.
