Report to: Health Services Supervisor and McAuliffe Elementary School Principal.

Monday–Friday, 7.5 hours per day per school calendar: 8:15 AM–3:45 PM.

• Provide direct skilled nursing services, first aid, illness and emergency care to students in accordance with professional standards, school policy and procedures, state and local mandates.
• Administer medications and treatments as a professional nurse according to District #200 policy (e.g., glucose testing, medication administration, inhaler treatments).
• Maintain a daily log of health office visits including student visits and actions taken.
• Conduct health care assessment and decision making based on medical knowledge and licensure.
• Conduct vision and hearing screenings and other screenings as assigned.
• Delegate nursing functions as necessary, with appropriate assessment, teaching, monitoring and supervision according to the Minnesota Nursing Practice Act.
• Maintain confidentiality and data privacy.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, parents, and staff.
• Maintain and update health records, immunization files, and records.
• Assist Licensed School Nurse in the development and implementation of IEP, IHP, and other health planning for students under their license and direction.
• Participate on Child Study Team and assist Licensed School Nurse in assessment, development, and implementation of IEP, IHP and other health plans, submit Third Party Billing as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• RN starting wage – Grade 11, Step 1: $35.15/hour.
• Medical and dental health care benefits, six paid holidays.

• Registered Nurse in accordance with the Minnesota Board of Nursing.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification.
• Ability to readily navigate and utilize computer systems (e.g., data entry systems, email, Microsoft Word, Google Drive).
• Ability to communicate with students, parents, staff, and community in a positive and responsive manner consistently welcoming and promoting good working relationships (oral, electronic, and written forms).
• Prompt, regular, and reliable attendance.
• An appreciation of diversity in all interactions and job functions.
• Ability to initiate and follow through with assigned tasks independently.

• Previous experience working in a hospital or emergency room setting.
• Experience working in an educational setting.
• Experience working with children.
