Agency Caregiver
- York, Ne. – $1000 Hiring Bonus Description
Caregivers provide in-home, non‑medical services for people of all ages. They dedicate themselves to helping clients lead dignified, independent lifestyles in the comfort and safety of their own homes, offering compassionate care through professional, ethical, and quality service. All offers of employment are contingent upon successful completion of a background check, drug screen, and pre‑employment physical to ensure you can meet the essential functions of the Caregiver position.

Role and Responsibilities- Companionship – accompany clients to doctor, restaurants, theater, movies, etc.
- Record personal memories, play games/cards, assist with hobbies and crafts.
- Read books, newspapers, magazines or spiritual material.
- Assist with mail, making appointments, and connect with family/friends via social media, email, Skype, etc.
- Discuss current events or share memories and visit friends, relatives or neighbors.
- Light housekeeping – organize and clean closets, pack/unpack, wash dishes, dust, vacuum, take out garbage.
- Provide laundry and ironing assistance, care for plants, change linens, and make beds.
- Shopping and errands – assist with groceries, refilling prescriptions, and other related activities.
- Transportation – doctor, dentist, and other appointments; religious services, shopping, and local destinations.
- Personal care – assist with bathing, personal hygiene, and clothing selection; medication reminders; transferring assistance (as needed); range‑of‑motion exercises; shampoo and style hair.
- Meal preparation – prepare meals, assist with eating, clean up, plan meals in advance, assist with special diets, monitor expiration dates on foods.
- Respite care – provide relief for primary caregivers.
- Alzheimer’s & dementia care – understand the behaviors and struggles, and provide special care as needed.
- Hospice care – provide supportive care in the final stages of terminal illness, focusing on comfort and quality of life.
- Other job duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and proof of vehicle insurance.
- Must possess your own reliable vehicle to transport clients.
- Must have access to a mobile device with internet connectivity.
- Must be 19+ years of age and legally eligible to work in the United States.
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Bilingual proficiency preferred.
Skills and Abilities
- Treat clients and their property with dignity, kindness, and respect.
- Communicate with clients and staff in a friendly and congenial manner.
- Follow verbal and written instructions, and document services provided.
- Function independently in a home setting with minimal supervision.
- Comply with client privacy, confidentiality, and HIPAA standards.
- Follow mandated reporter of abuse and neglect laws.
- Master Certified Caregivers: forward bend, trunk rotation, kneeling/crouching to reach objects beneath a bed, wheelchair legs; client transfer, repositioning, bed mobility, light housekeeping, walking; lift and move various equipment, client personal items; able to lift 25 lbs.
- Elite Certified Caregivers (if applicable): able to lift 25 lbs. and utilize transferring equipment such as Hoyer lifts, sit‑to‑stands, etc.
