Pay: $25.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 6:00 AM–4:30 PM | Friday Overtime as Needed

Associated Staffing is hiring an experienced Railcar Technician for a temp-to-hire opportunity in Hastings, NE! Earn $25.00 per hour while working a four-day schedule with opportunities for Friday overtime.
We're looking for dependable, mechanically inclined individuals with strong welding and mechanical experience who enjoy hands‑on work in an industrial environment. This position offers the opportunity for a pay increase and benefits upon permanent hire based on performance.
Job ResponsibilitiesAssist with railcar repairs, welding, maintenance and general shop operations.
Operate industrial blasting equipment to remove rust, paint, scale and other materials from railcars.
Prepare railcar surfaces for painting, coating and finishing.
Inspect and clean railcars before and after blasting operations.
Use grinders, sanding equipment, power tools and other industrial equipment.
Mask and protect railcar components during blasting and finishing processes.
Assist painters with surface preparation, caulking, taping and finishing tasks.
Maintain, adjust and clean blasting equipment, hoses, nozzles and grit recovery systems.
Perform general shop labor, including work in the wash bay and assisting other departments.
Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
QualificationsStrong welding and mechanical experience required.
Stable work history with previous positions held for two or more years preferred.
Experience using hand tools, power tools and industrial equipment.
Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.
Ability to safely use fall‑protection equipment, including safety harnesses.
Willingness to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Basic math, reading and writing skills.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Dependable attendance, strong work ethic and ability to work as part of a team.
Steel‑toed boots required.
Starting Pay: $25.00/hour
Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 6:00 AM–4:30 PM
Overtime: Fridays as required
