Locally FYDoctor in Cardiology​/General Medicine

Job Summary

The post will end 4th August 2026. Conquest Hospital is located in the South East corner of the UK within a country and beachside setting, easily accessed from London, Gatwick and Brighton. It is part of East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust (ESHT) providing comprehensive acute and community services to over 525,000 residents, with more than 8,000 staff.

During the 4‑month fixed‑term contract the post holder will be placed on a ward managing General Medicine patients. Depending on staffing rotations the post holder may rotate between Gastroenterology, Respiratory or Geriatric wards, each with a cohort of General Medicine patients, providing exposure to a variety of cases and clinical experience. The post holder will work with a medical team based on the ward and a supervising consultant and will also take part in the Medical On‑call Rota.

The post holder will be encouraged to maintain a Personal Development Plan that can be used as evidence that all F2 competencies have been achieved while in this post. An active structured teaching programme starts with induction day. The post holder may also contribute to quality improvement and audits if the opportunity arises and they are keen to pursue this.

• MB BS or equivalent
• Full Registration with GMC and a licence to practice
• MD or equivalent (desirable)
• Experience in all aspects of General (Internal) Medicine
• Experience in other relevant medical specialities (desirable)

The post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and requires a Disclosure and Barring Service check.
