Position: Employment Skills Trainer

Employment and Skills Trainer

Reed in Partnership is a family‑owned company delivering public services since 1998, with a mission to positively transform people and communities. We are looking for an Employment and Skills Trainer to support adult jobseekers in our Restart Scheme by providing high‑quality employability training and coaching.

Pay Range

£28,000 to £31,000

Job Overview

The role involves coaching, training and upskilling participants in CV writing, interview skills, and goal setting to boost confidence, enhance employability and secure meaningful employment. You will prepare and deliver training sessions, maintain a professional learning environment, assess progress, and collaborate with Employment Advisers to tailor course delivery.

Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities
  • Take ownership by preparing and delivering high‑quality employability training sessions.
  • Maintain a professional training environment and course materials.
  • Promote courses to internal and external stakeholders to enhance submissions.
  • Assess and evaluate participant progress, providing performance feedback to Employment Advisers.
  • Accurately report participant attendance and achievements.
  • Collaborate with Employment Advisers to identify suitable courses relevant to participants’ needs.
Qualifications Essential
  • Ability to work to strict targets and with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
  • Experience of working in a welfare‑to‑work or similar sector.
  • Background in preparing and delivering training courses.
  • Minimum of 2 A‑Levels or an equivalent Level3 Diploma plus GCSE English Language Grade

    B or above (or equivalent Level2 qualification). If not met, a Level2 Literacy Assessment will be required at interview.
Desirable
  • Recognised teaching qualification such as PTTLS or PGCE (Reed will fund the qualification in the first 6months if not already held).
  • Ability to empathise with members and motivate them.
  • Passion for delivering excellent jobs and driving long‑term positive change.
  • Resilience, creativity and adaptability.
  • Willingness to travel locally for training, courses, meet‑ups with learners and employers.
  • Fluency in a second language.
