Engage Education is working with a supportive and specialist school in Hastings to recruit a full‑time Complex Needs Teaching Assistant starting in September 2026.

This is a rewarding opportunity for a caring and resilient individual to support pupils with complex learning needs, helping them access education, develop independence, and achieve their personal goals. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and specialist staff to provide tailored support throughout the school day.

• Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with complex additional needs
• Supporting students with communication, sensory, physical, and learning needs
• Assisting pupils to access personalised learning activities and interventions
• Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
• Helping pupils develop independence and life skills
• Assisting with personal care needs where required
• Supporting communication strategies and specialist approaches
• Working closely with teachers, therapists, and wider support staff
• Creating a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment

• Experience supporting children or young people with complex needs is desirable
• Previous experience in SEN, care, support work, or similar settings is beneficial
• Patient, calm, and compassionate approach
• Confident supporting pupils with a range of individual needs
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to remain positive and adaptable in challenging situations
• Committed to supporting pupil development and wellbeing
• Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities

• Pay in line with Agency Worker Regulations (AWR), matching permanent staff rates
