Digital Innovation & AI Apprenticeship Specialist

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Digital Innovation & AI Apprenticeship Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will bring strong expertise in Digital and AI, demonstrate excellent assessment practice, and play a key role in enhancing the quality of our programmes.
Responsibilities- Play a key role in positioning East Sussex College as a leader in Digital and AI delivery and innovation
- Lead the way in digital transformation, designing and delivering cutting‑edge, future‑focused learning experiences that meet real industry demands
- Bring learning to life
- Empower apprentices to succeed
- Provide meaningful feedback, track progress, and celebrate achievement
- Deliver personalised support that drives every learner to reach their full potential
- Collaborate with employers to create impactful training that directly supports business growth and development
- Champion safe and supportive learning environments, both in the workplace and beyond
- Drive excellence and compliance, ensuring high‑quality, accurate delivery aligned with ESFA requirements and best practice
- Invest in your own growth, staying ahead of emerging trends, technologies, and innovations in Digital and AI
- Take ownership of a dynamic caseload, managing and motivating learners to succeed
- Influence quality and continuous improvement
- Possess Digital/AI occupational competence and qualifications up to Degree level in Computer Science, AI, Data Science, Software Engineering, or related field
- A teaching qualification (e.g. Cert Ed, PGCE, AET/CET/DET)
- TAQA Assessors & IQA qualification or equivalent i.e. A1/D32/D33/V1/D34 (desirable)
- Strong knowledge of AI fundamentals, data literacy, automation tools and digital technologies
- Understanding of digital workplace systems, cloud technologies or AI‑enabled tools
- Knowledge of current industry AI trends, ethics, governance and emerging technologies
- Knowledge of Digital apprenticeship standards and the requirements for EPA (desirable)
- Willing to travel both local and out of area
- Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills
- Highly proficient in IT, with the agility to quickly learn and utilise new systems
College location:
Based at our Ore Valley Campus – however this role is flexible in terms of hybrid working, where applicable.
Annual salary:
Circa £40,000 – Willing to discuss salary expectations based on qualifications, skills and experience.
Hours:
Full time – 37 hours/52.14 weeks.
