Leakage Technician

FJA are working with a large water utilities company who are recruiting for experienced Leakage Technicians who will be responsible for day-to-day leak detection activities.

• Undertake survey work/project work not normally associated with day-to-day leak detection.
• Assist repair gangs by providing leak detection.
• To undertake a detailed survey to identify the type and location of water leakage on large diameter pipes.
• Carry out adequate and accurate completion of all paperwork (including timesheets, survey forms, leak details) and other duties as required.
• Perform a Step Test – one of the most effective ways of identifying high leakage within a water distribution network, requiring the establishment of zones of DMAs where water can be supplied through a single meter.
• Work on the Step Test during nighttime when consumption is lowest and most stable, to minimize consumer disruption.

• EUSR Water Hygiene Training
• Unit 2 Street Works

• Proficient in the use of leakage detection equipment, including a Correlator, Pipe Tracer, Ground Microphone, and Listening Stick.
• Experience with in Step Testing, Trunk Mains, Validation, and Seepage desirable but not essential.
• Must hold a full and valid driving licence and be willing to drive for the role.
• Strong written communication skills and ability to complete accurate paperwork.
