Hastings, East Sussex Salary: £38,000 £ 40,000 per annum Job Type: Full-Time | Permanent About the Role We are seeking an experienced Service Manager to lead and oversee a supported living service, ensuring high-quality, person-centred care for all clients. This role involves managing support workers, supervising daily operations, writing care plans, rota planning, and maintaining strong relationships with clients, families, and the local community.

You will work in partnership with senior leadership to deliver the organisations strategic objectives within the community division.

Key Responsibilities Care & Quality Work alongside Directors to organise and write care plans and risk assessments Ensure staff provide a first-class service, following organisational policies, processes, and quality systems Maintain strong understanding of CQC compliance standards Ensure day-to-day delivery of a safe, person-centred service Deputise for the Registered Manager when required, including on-call duties Ensure the service is fully staffed and resourced to meet client needs Support clients to access social, recreational, and community activities Operational Management Deploy staff efficiently while meeting service and client needs Ensure person-centred support arrangements are reviewed and updated Implement quality assurance processes and promote continuous improvement Authorise annual leave and ensure rota coverage is maintained Ensure all records, documentation, care plans, and risk assessments are updated in line with CQC and local authority requirements Conduct site visits and complete audits (fire, H&S, infection control, medication, finance, property) Write and implement action plans based on audit findings Ensure incidents and safeguarding concerns are recorded and escalated appropriately Support clients who exhibit behaviours of concern, applying appropriate behavioural strategies Ensure clients have access to a varied activities programme Ensure all clients have an allocated key worker Support or administer medication following training and organisational procedures Support hands-on within the service when required Communication & Partnership Working Communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams Build and maintain positive relationships with families and external agencies Represent the service professionally in all interactions People Management Line-manage support workers, including supervision and appraisals Manage absence, performance, disciplinary, and grievance processes Support recruitment, induction, and completion of the Care Certificate Train, motivate, and develop staff through effective leadership Ensure all team members receive required training and ongoing CPD Hold and document regular team meetings Financial Management Work within agreed budgets Uphold financial policies related to client money and staff expenses Monitor and audit financial activity, reporting discrepancies Requirements Minimum 2 years experience in a managerial position within health and social care Level 3 Health and Social Care qualification Apply Now If you are an experienced Service Manager with a passion for delivering high-quality, person-centred support, apply today to take the next step in your social care leadership career.
