This posting will be used to fill one (1) Full-time, rotating shift position. Rotating shifts:
Day/Evening/Night. Day shift is: 6:00am-2:30pm, evening shift is: 2:00pm-10:30pm, and Nights 10:00pm-06:30am. The work schedule will include at least 80 hours per two-week pay period and may include additional work hours, based on business needs. This positions is initially eligible for full employer contribution towards health and dental insurance benefits.
The Registered Nurse (RN) serves Minnesota Veteran Homes' Residents by delivering skilled nursing within the RN scope of practice as defined in the Minnesota Nurse Practice Act, in accordance with current Federal, State and Veteran Administration regulations. Utilizing the nursing process, the RN will provide assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to sufficiently deliver quality resident centered care. This process provides the guidelines to meet the physical and psychosocial needs of the Resident(s).
The Minnesota Veterans Home in Hastings is a Domiciliary (DOM) which is an independent living community for Veterans. It provides a supportive environment that fosters a stable, healthy, and meaningful life for Veterans. Our rewarding program helps Veterans with their clinical, mental, chemical, and physical needs, and has the capacity to serve 195 Veterans between the Hastings and Minneapolis campuses. The Hastings DOM is located in the southeast metro with connecting highways for an easy commute. The beautiful 128-acre wooded campus includes mature oaks and pines, nature trails and biking paths overlooking the Vermillion River.
Minimum Qualifications- Licensed in Minnesota as a Registered Nurse, in good standing
- Effective communication skills sufficient to provide and follow instructions and teach skills to residents
- Computer skills sufficient to complete electronic charting, specifically in Point Click Care
