A well-established technical services organisation is seeking a fully qualified Approved Electrician to join its electrical division on a permanent basis. This role offers a varied workload across maintenance, minor works, installations, and fault-finding, with opportunities to develop into renewables and emerging technologies. The organisation operates across commercial, industrial, and domestic environments and invests heavily in training, development, and long-term career progression.
The RoleYou’ll work independently and as part of a wider engineering team, delivering high-quality electrical services across a diverse client base.
- Maintenance & minor repairs – approx. 30%
- Electrical installations – approx. 30%
- Testing & inspection – approx. 5%
- Reactive breakdowns – approx. 5%
- Carrying out electrical installation, maintenance, and fault-finding works
- Working on single and three-phase systems and distribution boards
- Installing lighting, power, emergency lighting, and associated systems
- Installing cable management systems (conduit, trunking, tray – plastic & steel)
- Diagnosing and rectifying electrical faults efficiently and safely
- Ensuring all work complies with current regulations and standards
- Completing documentation and certification accurately
- Supporting renewables works such as Solar PV, battery storage, and EV charging (where trained)
- Maintaining high standards of health, safety, and customer service
- Full-time, permanent position
- Monday to Friday, 8:30am–5:00pm (30-minute unpaid lunch)
- Salary £38,000 – £42,000 depending on experience
- 22 days’ annual leave plus UK bank holidays (increasing with service)

About YouYou’ll be a qualified electrician with solid hands-on experience and a professional approach to your work.
Essential experience and skills- Minimum 5 years’ experience in electrical installation
- Completed a recognised electrical apprenticeship or equivalent time-served experience
Experience across commercial, industrial, and domestic environments - Strong working knowledge of BS 7671
- Competence in single and three-phase installations and distribution systems
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Experience installing cable containment systems
- Basic IT skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Full UK driving licence
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent)
- AM2
- 18th Edition (2382-18)
- Test & Inspection qualification (2391-52 or equivalent)
- ECS Card
- IPAF / PASMA
- Asbestos Awareness
- Exposure to Solar PV, EV charging, or other renewables
- Knowledge of additional British Standards relating to lighting and life-safety systems
Ongoing training and development is actively supported, including upskilling into renewables and specialist systems. Annual appraisals are used to review performance and set development goals.
