About the roleAs a Supporting Independence Recovery Coordinator (Levels 1 and
2), you'll play a pivotal role in helping people rebuild their lives after injury.
Acting as the primary point of contact for clients with complex or sensitive needs, you'll support individuals and whānau to overcome barriers, access the right services, and achieve greater independence, wellbeing, and quality of life.
Your caseload focuses on clients who are not participating in paid employment and whose recovery goals are centred on living independently, staying connected to their communities, and improving their quality of life rather than returning to work.
This includes supporting children, students, superannuants, beneficiaries, and others whose rehabilitation needs are focused on everyday living.
No two days are the same. One conversation may involve helping a young person access supports that enable them to fully participate at school, while another may focus on assisting an older client to remain independent at home following a significant injury.
Working alongside clients, family/whānau, healthcare providers, community organisations, schools, support services, and aged-care providers, you'll coordinate personalised recovery plans that create meaningful and lasting outcomes.
This is a role where your empathy, judgement, and relationship-building skills can have a genuine impact. You'll help people regain confidence, maintain independence, and participate more fully in the things that matter most to them, all while contributing to keeping Kiwis safe at work, at home, and everywhere in between.
