Transportation Construction Inspector

CDR Maguire Inc., a national multi-disciplinary engineering firm, is seeking experienced Transportation Construction Inspectors for projects in PennDOT District 6, Montgomery County, for the upcoming 2025 construction season. • Ensure compliance with the contract documents by the contractor
• Consult with contractors, consultants, engineers, job superintendents, and others in matters related to plans, specifications, materials, equipment, and the methods, practices and safety precautions involved in construction and installation of the work
• Prepare daily progress reports and maintain progress schedules
• Check shop drawings and contractors' quotations for variation
• Maintain records of quantities and cost of materials used
• Prepare contractors' periodic progress payment claims and recommend payment

• Travel as required in relation to duties or as directed by supervisor
• Provide positive attitude to establish competence and pride in the company
• Other duties which may be required which are commensurate with the position

• High school diploma or GED, required. Construction Management or Civil Engineering degree is a plus
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English and perform basic math computations for length, area, and volume
• Minimum of one (1) year PennDOT experience or higher or minimum of two (2) years of transportation, highway, or bridge construction inspection experience
• Four (4) years of highway or bridge construction, non-highway or bridge inspection, or highway or bridge design experience and non-inspection personnel must successfully complete the twelve (12) web- based TCI training modules can substitute for other required experience
• Civil Engineering or Construction degree can substitute for needed experience
• Bachelor's of Science degree in a non-Civil Engineering field with the successful completion of the twelve (12) web-based TCI training modules can substitute for needed experience

The following certifications are preferred:

• NICET Level 2 or higher in Transportation/Highway Construction
• NECEPT Bituminous field certification
• ACI/PennDOT Concrete field technician certification
• PennDOT/PTC CDS certification
• ECMS experience
• OSHA 10-Hour certification
