• These requirements are applicable to all Verizon Company Mechanic positions, regardless of state or region.

• Certifications and Licenses:
Applicants should possess one or more Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certifications, such as ASE Master Certification Automotive (A1-A8) and/or Medium Duty Truck (T1-T8). Additionally, applicants must hold licenses to purchase and handle air conditioning refrigerants (e.g., ASE, MACS) and be certified to perform brake adjustments and repairs.

• During the probationary period, required licenses include, but are not limited to, certifications for federal, state, and local inspections and emissions, as well as a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with B Endorsement or higher.

• Optional qualifications include OEM technical school certifications, military training degrees, or college diplomas.

• Experience and

Education:

Applicants must have at least 3 years of experience as an automotive mechanic, which can include time at a trade school for entry-level mechanics.

• Applicants must also possess a high school diploma, valid driver’s license(s), and computer skills for data entry into the fleet maintenance database. Welding experience is a plus but not mandatory.

• All workers must acquire and maintain appropriate licenses to work on Verizon equipment, available upon request as required by law.

• Additional Information:
Experience with Medium Duty Diesel and Powertrain is preferred. Vehicles serviced typically weigh between 26,001 to 35,000 pounds. Welding experience is desirable but not required.

• Testing:
Candidates must score at least 80-85% on the Cengage Test A1-A8 and T1-T8. Failure to meet this threshold will result in rejection.

• Onboarding Requirements:
All workers must pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check as part of background screening, with annual updates. Verizon may conduct random drug tests during the assignment.
