Reporting directly to the Finance Manager
- Financial Reporting, you will be a key member of our Reporting & Controls team, playing an integral role in maintaining financial integrity and driving continuous improvement across our accounting landscape.

In this pivotal role, you will take end-to-end ownership of core financial statement outputs, drive statutory reporting deliverables to our shareholders (M&S and Ocado Group), and serve as a technical accounting SME across the business—with a strong focus on fixed assets, leases, and balance sheet integrity.

• Financial Statement Ownership: Take end-to-end ownership of the delivery of the monthly balance sheet and cash flow statement, leading the internal balance sheet review process with senior leadership and proactively drive insights into financial performance.
• Statutory & External Reporting: Play a leading role in producing all statutory financial reporting for external parties and shareholders (M&S / Ocado Group), including key contributions to the ORL Annual Report.
• Business Partnering: Act as the finance business partner for finance leases and fixed assets, advising operational and finance stakeholders on accounting implications.
• Technical Accounting & Policy Compliance: Provide expert technical accounting guidance across the business to ensure full compliance with accounting policies. Work closely with the Accounting Centre of Excellence team to maintain robust journal and accounting procedures.
• Audit Coordination: Coordinate external audit activities, acting as a key liaison for external auditors, managing requests, and ensuring the broader finance team delivers inputs smoothly and on time.
• Process Improvement & Controls: Drive continuous improvement, automation, and efficiency across financial systems, processes, and reporting controls to enhance data quality and maintain robust financial governance.

• Qualified Accountant: ACA / ACCA qualified with proven post-qualification experience in technical financial accounting, statutory reporting, or audit (from either practice or industry).
• Technical Knowledge: Knowledge and practical application of key IFRS / IAS standards, specifically IFRS 16 (Leases), IAS 16 (Property, Plant & Equipment), IAS 38 (Intangible Assets), and IAS 36 (Impairment of Assets).
• Reporting & Audit Track Record: Demonstrable experience owning key financial statements (Balance Sheet & Cash Flow) and delivering external audits.
