Position:
Site Manager – Metal Works

Are you an experienced Site Manager with a strong background in metal works and construction project delivery? We are looking for a motivated and hands-on professional to lead site operations, ensure quality workmanship, and deliver projects safely, on time, and within budget.

Reporting To

Operations Manager / Project Director

About the Role

As Site Manager, you will oversee all on-site metal works activities, coordinating teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure projects are executed efficiently and to the highest standards. You will play a key role in maintaining safety, quality, and productivity across multiple project phases.

Key Responsibilities

* Manage and supervise all site-based metal works operations.

* Coordinate labour, subcontractors, materials, and equipment.

* Ensure works are completed according to project specifications and drawings.

* Monitor project progress and maintain project schedules.

* Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality standards are met.

* Enforce health, safety, and environmental compliance on site.

* Liaise with clients, consultants, engineers, and project stakeholders.

* Resolve site issues and implement effective solutions.

* Prepare site reports and provide regular project updates.

* Manage site resources to ensure cost-effective project delivery.

Skills & Experience

* SSSTS or SMSTS qualification required.

* Valid CSCS Gold Card (Skilled Worker or Supervisor).

* First Aid at Work (FAW) certification.

* IPAF certification (1a, 3a, 3b preferred).

* Additional certifications such as Slinger/Signaller, Harness Training, or CPCS are advantageous.

* Minimum 5 years’ experience within structural steel, architectural metalwork, or construction installation environments.

* Ability to read and interpret technical and fabrication drawings.

* Strong communication and organisational skills.

* Ability to work independently and collaboratively within project teams.

* Basic IT skills including Microsoft Office.

* Flexible approach to working hours when required by project demands.

Health, Safety & Environmental Responsibilities

* Comply fully with all company Health & Safety and Environmental policies.

* Ensure correct PPE is worn and safe working practices are followed at all times.

* Report unsafe conditions, defective equipment, incidents, and near misses immediately.

* Ensure all equipment is used correctly and only by trained personnel.

* Support a positive Health & Safety culture across all projects.

* Contribute towards achieving company environmental and safety objectives.
