Residential Fire Risk Assessor

Join Osterna, part of RMG and Places for People Group, as an experienced Residential Fire Risk Assessor to support a proactive team of Health & Safety Professionals across Hatfield and surrounding areas.

Work is predominantly home‑based with up to 10 site visits a week. When on site you will conduct inspections of residential properties including traditional blocks, sheltered housing, HMO and high‑rise (18 m+). You will also author risk assessment reports and liaise with Property Managers and Directors to propose remedial actions.

What does the role involve?
  • Carry out inspections of residential properties (blocks, sheltered housing, HMO, high‑rise).
  • Produce comprehensive fire risk assessment reports.
  • Provide advice to management on repairs and preventive measures.
What knowledge, skills and experience are we looking for?
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
  • Experience in fire risk assessment on high‑rise residential buildings.
  • NEBOSH National Certificate in Fire Safety and Level 3 NEBOSH National General Certificate.
  • Experience with HSFRA Type 1 and Type 3 assessments, and Compartmentation Surveys.
  • Excellent accuracy, attention to detail and comprehensive knowledge of Health & Safety legislation.
  • Knowledge of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and local government guidance.
  • LaCORS experience desirable; training will be provided.
  • Safe Contractor and NSI approved provider of BAFESP
    205 Fire Risk Assessments.
