Your new roleWe are looking for a senior packaging technologist. The role reports to the technical packaging manager.
The senior packaging technologist is responsible for the scoping, management and delivery of packaging related projects and activity within the technical packaging department. The role plays a critical part in supporting packaging related innovation, change management, compliance, qualification activities and technical problem-solving.
Ensuring that operations conducted are performed in accordance with the requirements of Eisai Corporate Standards, Eisai Quality System, GMP and GDP Guidelines, Industry Standards & support the Continuous Improvement process.
- Lead cross functional teams to deliver;
New Product Introductions (NPI), new suppliers, new tooling or material changes into the packaging facility. - Lead or support cross functional deviation investigations including Corrective Action & Preventative Action (CAPA).
- Lead Change Controls to ensure all packaging changes are effectively assessed and implemented according to agreed timelines.
- Lead complaint investigations with suppliers and ensure CAPAs are correctly implemented.
- Lead the Technical Packaging qualification or process validation activities, as required.
- Lead packaging line trials, ensuring appropriate planning, documentation, approvals and testing is conducted.
- Generate Technical reports to document planned or completed activities.
- Work with and provide technical guidance to internal and third-party operations.
- Lead cross functional teams to investigate or implement improvements in packaging operations, systems & process.
- Lead or support Continuous Improvement activities.
- Lead or support packaging cleaning development and validation activities.
- Support, Develop, Implement and adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
- Support Good Manufacturing Practices in all areas of responsibility.
- To support internal and external audits and ensure adherence to quality and regulatory requirements.
- To ensure the timely escalation of issues to the Technical Packaging Manager.
- Previous experience as a packaging technologist (or similar role).
- Practical experience working within manufacturing and packaging environment.
- Strong understanding of packaging materials, components and packaging processes.
- Experience managing and delivering equipment or material changes within a manufacturing environment.
- Previous experience of working in pharmaceutical industry – Desirable.
- Packaging Technology related qualifications i.e. PIABC Level 5 Diploma in Packaging Technology – Desirable.
- This is onsite 5 days a week
