Under general supervision, this position is responsible for learning the management of a small driver count and/or non‑traditional shifts (including nights and weekends). The role ensures safe and timely movement of freight, load assignment, and provides best‑in‑class customer service. You will be trained to ensure compliance with DOT regulations, oversee drivers’ compliance with company regulations, and collaborate with internal and external contacts to plan, route, monitor, and deliver freight.

- Build and maintain positive professional relationships with drivers and outside carriers to ensure seamless carrier set‑up, minimize turnover, and maximize productivity.
- Fill in for absent personnel and participate in special projects related to fleet operations and profitability.
- Develop personnel management skills, including training and orientation of drivers and/or employees, and assistance with internal and third‑party systems.
- Identify and recommend continuous improvements, measure key performance indicators, and present customer‑specific reporting and financial analysis at customer locations.
- Manage inventory, assets, customer pools, and driver assignments to balance equipment in market.
- Perform administrative duties such as payroll, net‑revenue budget management, driver counseling, accident reviews, documentation, pay issue resolution, analysis of P&L statements, invoicing, and operational or financial reporting.
- Oversee yard operations, including equipment inspection, part replacement, repairs, and coordination with maintenance for preventive maintenance and safety‑related repairs.
- Resolve service issues involving drivers, customers, and company personnel, addressing routing/planning, mechanical problems, accessorial pay, etc., including on‑call duties when necessary.
- Maintain the company’s safety culture through daily driver safety messages, monthly briefings, quarterly training, annual reviews, and enforcement of DOT compliance and company safety policies.
- Assign loads and plan, route, and monitor freight to provide safe, on‑time service, manage freight exceptions, and adjust driver ETA based on schedules and road conditions.
Minimum Qualification:
- High School Diploma/GED with up to 4 years of equivalent education, experience, and training AND/OR currently enrolled in a degree program with up to 2 years of education, experience, and training, AND/OR Bachelor’s degree with ability to work multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends if needed. Must be willing to travel to account, customer, and company event locations when applicable.

- Bachelor’s degree plus 1 year of or equivalent education, experience, and training.

The expected starting pay range for this position is between $42,000.00 and $63,000.00.
This position is not eligible for employment‑based sponsorship.
