Pine Belt Mental Healthcare Resources is seeking a detail-oriented, self-motivated, and organized Accountant to work in the administrative department in Hattiesburg, MS. The Accountant position will play a vital role in the financial operations of the agency. The ideal Accountant candidate will have experience in handling a wide range of accounting and support related tasks and will be able to work independently.
For 50 years, Pine Belt Mental Healthcare Resources has served individuals throughout the Pine Belt. Through an extensive continuum of care, we strive to enable adults with serious mental illnesses, children with serious emotional disturbances, and individuals with an addiction or developmental disability to live, work, learn, and participate fully in their communities. Our eighteenth-county service area includes Amite, Franklin, Forrest, Hancock, Harrison, Jones, Lamar, Lawrence, Covington, Greene, Jeff Davis, Marion, Pearl River, Perry, Pike, Stone, Walthall, Wayne Counties.
Requirements:- Bachelor's degree in Accounting with knowledge of spreadsheet software, word processing, and general accounting software required
- AP Management Preferred
- Knowledge of accounting functions within healthcare environment preferred
- Ability to think independently to determine direction of work flow and work load
- Excellent communications skills required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, including data entry and calculating formulas in Excel required
- Performs general accounting duties under the direction of the Controller.
- Compiles monthly reports, monthly bank reconciliations, and assists with independent audits.
- Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to perform general ledger account maintenance,
- Organizes and tracks company purchasing cards, makes journal entries, maintains company travel program, processes HUD reports.
- Assists with other accounting projects and filing as necessary.
