Overview
Under the supervision of the Dean of the School of Business, the faculty member supports the mission of the School through teaching, advising, service, and engagement with faculty, staff, students, and the broader community. Primary teaching responsibilities include courses in Business and Economic Statistics, Business Analytics, Operations Management, and Global Supply Chain Management, along with other business courses as assigned. Expertise in these areas is required, as well as a demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service.
Responsibilities- Assist the university in implementing the Statement of Purpose
- Assist the university in implementing the long-range institutional and financial plans
- Provide feedback for the development of the curriculum, processes, and academic practices for the School of Business on the Hattiesburg and/or Tradition campuses
- Provide effective classroom instruction
- Promote relationships between WCU and School of Business alumni
- Serve the University through activities such as advising, serving on committees, recruitment of students, and attendance at college functions
- Teach courses in the areas of Business and Economic Statistics, Business Analytics, Operations Management, and Global Supply Chain Management, along with other business courses as assigned
- Promote the university through participation in religious, civic, cultural, educational, and/or business activities
- Participate in professional development activities annually
- Participate in the annual evaluation of the effectiveness of the business programs at WCU
- Fulfill all contractual obligations, including job-related duties outlined in the Faculty Handbook
- Terminal degree in the area of Business Administration
- Ability to use common office productivity software, including Microsoft Office suite (Word and Outlook)
- Ability to use learning management systems
- Ability to respect and adhere to the confidentiality requirements of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act
- Teaching experience at the college level
- Must possess mobility to work in standard classroom and office settings
- Must have vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone
- Must have the ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
